Originally from Long Island, New York, Andy’s first introduction to the trumpet was when he was only 4 years old and his parents took him to Atlantic City’s famous boardwalk. He heard amazing music coming from deep in the crowd but couldn’t see anything until his dad picked him up for a view. Andy was watching one of the greatest trumpet players of all time, Louis Armstrong! That vision stayed with him and inspired Andy to learn the trumpet and play jazz music.
From 1982-1986, Andy attended the prestigious Berklee College Of Music in Boston, MA where he earned his degree in Music Performance. While at Berklee, Andy studied with Greg Hopkins, Wayne Naus and Jerry Bergonzi. In 1993, he moved to Arizona where he currently resides with his wife Helaine and daughter Gabriella.
Andy plays in a variety of bands around The Valley of the Sun and teaches private lessons to aspiring trumpet players.
